The price on the Iomega Prestige 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive was too good to pass up. I had a much smaller external drive that was about full so I really needed a new one.

I haven't had much time to work with the new drive but so far everything is working well. It was very easy to install. It has a switch to shut it down when you are not using it. I think this is very important both for security reasons and to keep the drive from needlessly spinning day and night when it isn't even being used.

The only problem that I had was that when I first installed it, the drive didn't show up in "Explore". I didn't do anything about it and two days later it showed up and has since. It was probably a glitch with my "glitchey" computer. -- External Storage

Excellent product, 5 star across the boards. The noise is negligible, its cheap, its huge in capacity, compact in size, its easy to use and installs in seconds, it ways very little, less than most of the competing brand names! This is good not only for being more convenient, it ways far less than the 3 pound threshold for shipping and packing, so what you may save on the price tag of most other brands you'll end up paying on shipping.

Not only this, I had a great service provided by Amazon. I'm tight on cash (like almost everybody) so to save some pennies I asked for a free shipping service (that usually takes between 5 and 8 days); I was surprised by a notice I received the same day I ordered Iomega, informing me that it had already been shipped. Next day before I left for work I received it at my doorstep! Next day shipping for Free!
